It’s Goodbye from Her and Hello from Me

Hello and welcome to the New Coach Business Network blogsite.
The "New Coaches Forum" was created in 2004, the original brain child of Jan Scott. As a close business colleague of Jan’s with a similar interest in helping newer less experienced coaches avoid some of the mistakes we’d made when setting up our practices, I became a founding member of the forum and have happily offered my support to Jan and the new coaches ever since.
Jan has recently (March 2007) decided it is now time for her to pursue a new dream and a fresh vision. Here’s what she told the forum earlier this week:
Today is a very important day in the life of the New
Coaches forum. Today I am standing down as the moderator and handing
over the baton to our own Marion Ryan.
I
started up the forum almost 4 years ago, seeing a need for somewhere
friendly and supportive for new coaches just starting to feel their way
in their profession. I have been delighted with the way in which it has
grown and with the wonderful feedback I have received. It has been a
great journey, but now it’s time for me to move on.
My
own personal change facilitation practice is thriving at JanScott.co.uk, I am getting lots of commissions for websites at SimplyFab.co.uk and I am also moving in a brand new direction. I
am not yet ready to go public with it, but I will be able to use my
coaching skills and follow a lifelong passion too. As you can imagine,
I need to give those three strands my full attention.
Another factor, a very important one, is that my first grandchild will be putting in an appearance within the next few weeks.
I
am utterly delighted that Marion has agreed to take over the forum. She
was already an experienced coach when I first started up and she has
been a source of generous support, wisdom and information from day one.
Both to me, and to the forum’s membership.
I shall still be hanging out on the periphery of the forum for the foreseeable future (with Marion’s blessing, I should add).
Thank you all so much for your support over the past 4 years.
It is rather strange for me to think of the Forum going on without Jan at the helm though I’m delighted she’ll remain within the group for the foreseeable future.
Equally I’m excited to think about putting my own mark on the Forum and my first small change is a change of name from the New Coaches Forum to the New Coach Business Network. I think the forum has several different roles to play in the lives of new coaches, not least of which is the support and encouragement for more of them to build sustainable businesses for themselves.
More about this soon!
